Dr. Michelle’s Super Spring Cleansing Smoothie

1½ cups of cold water (or more if you prefer a thinner consistency)
6 inches of organic cucumber, sliced in half-inch disks
One stalk of organic celery, sliced in 2-inch pieces
One organic avocado, pit and skin removed

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until the texture is smooth.  Adjust the amount of water if you prefer a thinner or thicker consistency.  While you are marvelling at the great taste, you may forget that the celery provides over 14 pain-fighting compounds and loads of vitamins and minerals, including:  riboflavin, vitamin B6, pantothenic acid, calcium, magnesium and phosphorus, vitamins A, C, and K, folate, potassium and manganese. The avocado adds fiber, protein,  healthy fats, vitamins C and K, and folate.  The cucumber is a good source of vitamins A, C and K, pantothenic acid, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus and manganese.

1.  Defensive driving is the best way to go and while safety must come first, remember that driving too slow is just as bad as driving too fast.
2.  Stop signs.  What they really mean is brake, slow down, but it’s more of a “rolling stop”.  Come to a complete stop and you’ll probably have new passengers in your back seat.
3.  When on the highway drive in the RIGHT HAND LANE ONLY.  Leave the left land for passing.  I can not even say how many times I’ve seen rental cars driving about 45 mph in the left lane taking pictures of the arch and totally oblivious to the F-150 right on their bumper flashing the high-beams.  Completely dangerous.
4.  Pay attention to the locals using their hazard lights.  They tend to use them for various things.  Here are the one’s I’ve figured out – there are probably others that still have to learn:
Construction ahead
Accident ahead
Animals on the highway
Attempting a parallel park
Just stopped on the side of the road for a breather
5.  When a green traffic light is blinking it means that the light is going to turn yellow.  Step on it! Most likely the cars behind are doing just the same so if you come to a sudden stop you are likely to be rear-ended
6.  The main street in Cabo is now a one way.  Make sure you’re going the right way on it – as there are no signs saying which way it goes – only police on the corner handing out tickets.

Here are some guidelines we hope you’ll find helpful. Bell-boys should be tipped 0.50 cents to $1.00 per bag, Leave $2 to $5 per day to the housekeeper at your resort. It is not customary to tip taxi drivers unless they are hired by the  hour or are providing a special service. Valet parking attendants usually get $1 to $2 dollars.  Transportation company drivers, tour guides, and anybody else who is providing a service for something you’ve paid for  should be tipped only if they provided excellent service, were extra-helpful or if you found their service, information and attitude deserving of extra recognition.

A word of advise, don’t tip in U.S. coins. Foreign currency coins make good weights and wind-chime assembly material in Mexico but they are definitely not a good tip.

Tip in either pesos or US dollars - if using dollars make sure you give bills and no coins

The project has caused concern amongst some of the citizens of Los Cabos because they said that the streetlights were only working on a few stretches of the highway but the authorities in charge of this project announced last week that the tests to verify the optimal performance of this improvement to the 35 mile stretch of highway that links  San Jose del Cabo to Cabo San Lucas should be completed by the end on May

As we increase our cost efficiency, we share our savings with you

Why, you wonder? Because with volume comes savings and we are happy to report that since we are increasing the volume of our purchases – thanks to the increase in weekly orders -  we can now reduce our service fee. We are set on staying the leader in the grocery delivery service in Los Cabos and as such we have decided to share the more efficient costs in our operation with our clients.

Effective immediately we have reduced our service fee by 5%, now our service fee will be of 15% of the total of your purchase, but wait! There’s more!  We have also decided to limit our fee to a maximum of $50 U.S. dollars, which means that if your order $400 dollars, instead of paying a $60 dollar service fee you only pay $50. Pretty good deal, right? And to top it all, the minimum fee of $20 dollars is now applied to all orders under $150.

We want to thank all our clients and especially our return clients who have allowed us to grow and kept us busy, even during the tough low season of 2009.
